Jiu Jitsu is a system of martial arts whose core techniques can be traced back to the battlefields of feudal Japan.
The style excels in unarmed self-defence, with students learning how to defend themselves from an unarmed opponent. The style also prepares students to defend themselves from armed opponents such as attacks with bottles, blunt and bladed objects. The style also focuses on defence on the ground and pressure points.
Students will learn how to strike, throw and lock opponents and defend against multiple attackers. The style’s aim is to develop individuals who have an all-round, comprehensive knowledge of the martial art.
Wednesday from 19:30 until 21:00
We welcome complete beginners, novices and experienced students.
Classes cost from £40 per month.
During the warm summer months, we arrange additional weekend classes in parks around London, where students can learn techniques in the sunshine, followed by a trip to a nearby bar or cafe.
We'll be launching additional classes at other London locations later this year. Keep your eyes peeled for future updates!
"Why do I like jiu jitsu? Mainly because it's fun. There's something enjoyable about throwing, and being thrown, that you can't really describe but feels great - like being on a roller coaster!"
